Virginia Carter

Virginia lives in Old Orchard Beach, graduated from South Portland High School, and St. Lawrence University.  She is currently enrolled in the Vet. Technician Program at Cedar Valley College.

Her joys are singing in the car, the Red Sox, cooking, and decorating her condo so cats Mia Hamm and Spooky will have a pretty place to prowl. 

Virginia’s work at SAH gives her the opportunity to meet different challenges each day, and she loves watching patients get better each day through the treatments and attention they get from staff.

 

 

Brenna Frechette

Brenna  lives in Biddeford with her husband Roger and children Daniel and Jillian. Brenna graduated from Scarborough High School, and enjoys swimming, camping.

She enjoyed the time in the summer when she was a live in Nanny. 

Her work at SAH allows her to see a patient come in who is ill and then see them get better and then leave happy and healthy. Brenna especially enjoys all the people she works with each day.

 

Susan Lewis

Susan lives in Buxton with spouse Maurice and daughter Noelle. She graduated from South Portland High School and enjoys fishing, photography and time with family and friends. Quoddy the dog and Jake the gerbil round out the family in her home.

She likes the opportunity to see the extended love that people have for the special members of their families who they bring to SAH when they need help.   Whether a patient’s needs are routine or whether critical care is needed, Susan loves to contribute to the team effort that helps each patient towards the best outcome.

 

Cindy Strumph

Cindy lives with her husband Mark and daughters Shayna and Jenna.Cindy graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School and Portland Regional Vocational Technical Center and enjoys dog training, swimming, and scrapbooking.

Echo, Bob and Brea make up the dogs in her home along with cats Lupe and Kisses.

Cindy says after thirty three years at SAH, the animals and the needs they bring are what she likes best about working in the field.

 

Andrea Valliere... With Friends!

Andrea lives with her spouse Mike and children Taylor and Morgan. She graduated from Thornton Academy and her favorite hobby is horses.

The Valliere home hosts horses Jupiter, Twilight, Tank, and Skippy. Also, dogs Truman ( Golden Retriever ), Stella ( French Bulldog). Cats Carly and Savannah complete the household. 

SAH presents Andrea with a variety of different kinds of animals as patients and she likes that best.

 

Stephanie Ashley

Stephanie lives in Portland, and will marry her fiancé Brad in 2010.  Stephanie is a graduate of Windham High School and Saint Joseph’s College. 

She loves doing a variety of things out of doors, likes to travel and enjoys playing board games.  Her two cats are named Meeka and Minneola.

She looks forwards to meeting new patients at SAH, and especially likes watching the young patients grow up.  She also enjoys meeting the owners of each patient, and likes her co-workers.

 

Sam Hartery

Sam lives in Saco with her fiancé Keith. She graduated from Bangor High School and the University of Maine. Her greatest loves are animals, photography, travelling and the ocean. She has two fabulous cats at home, Hendrix and Molly. Sam enjoys seeing the young puppies and kittens grow with each visit. Sam has her own photography web site www.harteryphoto.com.

 

Sylvester

Sylvester came to live at the hospital from the Animal Refuge League in 1998. In spite of the name, Sylvester is a girl.

Sylvester patrols the hospital keeping an eye on everything that happens.

Sylvester is not at all shy and will come to say “Hello” to anyone that stops by, whether they have 2 legs or four.  Sylvester’s favorite hobby is eating!
